Spending Log is a local-first trip spending and budget tracker.
Information stored on your device
The app stores transactions, starting-budget settings, categories, optional notes, and optional purchase photos in its private local storage. It does not provide accounts, cloud sync, advertising, analytics, or a way to share this data with the developer. App data and photos are excluded from Android cloud backups and device-to-device transfer.
You may choose to take or select a purchase photo. The app opens Android's camera app or photo picker for that choice; it does not request direct Camera or media-library permission. Selected or captured images are resized and stored privately with the associated purchase.
USD-to-JPY reference-rate requests
Opening first-run setup may fetch a USD-to-JPY rate from Frankfurter at https://api.frankfurter.dev; later refreshes happen only when you choose them. The request does not include transactions, photos, or other ledger data. The service and its infrastructure providers may receive standard network information, such as your IP address, to operate that request.
Rates are fetched only while setup is open or after a direct refresh request; they are never refreshed in the background. They are reference rates only and may differ from rates offered by banks, cards, ATMs, or exchange counters.
Your choices
You may use the app without purchase photos or a rate. You can remove local app data through Android's app settings or by uninstalling the app.
